The older I’ve grown, the further I’ve strayed away from religion but because of that my connection with God has grown deeper than it ever was. We are taught that religion is this holy system, the savior of all, our “light.” i feel like we tend to forget on the other side of light, there is darkness.
with positivity comes negativity.
with angels comes demons.
with good comes bad.

I feel like when people see others wear items such as upside down cross, have pentagram tattoos, and create dark art, etc they instantly assume that person worships evil. Many forget that the reason we see the pentagram as evil is because someone out there, a human just like US took that symbol and altered the meaning behind it when originally it was seen as a symbol for spiritualism and the five elements.

But can it also just simply be a form of art? As another form of beauty? As someone’s feelings? Over the centuries, we made it into an artistic form of eery crosses, lit candles and rituals in our everyday. These people were in tune with their other side.

Don’t be afraid to express this darkness in you as much as you express the light.
