MOMIN PART 2 مؤمن- CREATIVE DIRECTED BY ME

Recently I released Part 1 of this shoot and it brought very big range of opinions. Many were upset and felt disrespected while others felt seen and heard for the first time. To me that is what it means to be a creative. Bringing something to life that causes conversation forcing everyone to debate and try to understand each other’s views. If everyone agreed that would make it boring.

Taking something sacred and creating art with it in any way that’s different than how it was written is tricky. Almost the entire population might come for your head but it’s what you signed up for. People say you can’t express certain things differently but I’m very adamant that for almost everything, things change with time. Deconstructing and reconstructing your beliefs in a direction that feels right for you. Creating a community that even if it’s a minority…they always hoped to see their faith shown in more of an “alt” or progressive form.

Disturb the comforted. Comfort the disturbed.
