Growing up as a Pakistani, I’ve seen my culture and history expressed in a very beautiful way. From our music to our clothing and jewelry to even the little things like the way we greet people and cook. I Love It All… but who’s to say it can’t be expressed differently? I want to take the beauty of my culture and mix it with not only my American side but also overall show the way I grew up as a Pakistani American. Normally we tend to be very modest and I think because of fear and trying to respect its traditions, we don’t go beyond that. I believe boundaries are meant to be broken. I believe that’s where real art is found. So in that, I wanna show a side of Pakistani and South Asian history in a way that hasn’t been seen. I’m not changing the culture but instead opening another road for my community. One that is welcome to everyone.
